Besucheransturm in Boston: Veranstalter “Voice of the Faithful” berichtet (Text in Englisch)

Friends,

Just a quick report from Boston: Thanks in part to Cardinal O’Malley’s banning of having the talk at St. Susanna’s parish church, Fr. Schueller was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of between 650 and 700 people at First Church Unitarian Universalist in Dedham MA. The church held 450 and was packed and the people from the church set up chairs on the green in front of the church where there were at least 200 more. We had set up speakers in front of the church to carry the talk and Q & A. The people who came late didn’t get inside to see Schueller, but they had the most comfortable place. The temperature at 7:00 pm was 91 and people inside were sweltering because this very old church does not have air-conditioning. The people on the green had somewhat cool breezes under the trees. Still very few people left the church until after 8:00 pm. Needless to say, Schueller received a standing ovation at the end.

[…] Schueller had a grinding day. We picked him up at the train station at 11:30 and whisked him to the Boston Globe for an interview. He came back to St. Susanna’s to a reception for a number of VOTF major donors. We got him to the church just before 7:00 pm and he was still talking to people at 9:15. After that he was taken to WBZ radio studio for a late-night talk show from 11:00 to 12:00. Tomorrow morning he will have an interview with a well-known progressive Catholic blogger from Connecticut. We’ll get him to the airport in time for a 4:30 flight to Philadelphia. […]

The rest of you are in for a wonderful, stimulating experience. And we at VOTF can now relax.

Ron DuBois, Voice oft the Faithful

Beschreibung
